Mrs. Reedcr had made her home for the past ten years with a nephew, James H. Alwood, Sr. of Mocksville, Rt. 2. Mrs. Reader was born in Monroe to the late James H. and Ida Ann Crowell Reader. She was retired from Cannon Mills in Kannapolis. Surviving are one granddaughter, Mrs. Becky Raphael of Springfield, Va.; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Blanten Smith of Isle of Palms, S.C.; several nieces and nephews. DAVIDSON Clyde Hiram Davidson, 83, for merly of Route 4, Mocksville, died 9:55 p.m. Monday in Rowan Memorial Hospital after being in declining health for two years and seriously ill for one veek. He had recently made his home with a son, Hugh Davidson of 1410 Colonial Drive, Salisbury. The body is at Noble and Kelsey Funeral Home, pending completioti of funeral arrangements at press- time. Born Feb. 22, 1899, in Troutman, he was a son of the iate Augustus and Annette Byers Davidson. He was located in Troutman schools, was retired as a farmer and also was retired from Erwin Mills, Cooleemee. He was a member of Rock Hill Church of Christ, Cleveland. Survivors include his wife, Nellie Tenor Davidson, of the home in Mocksville; four other sons, Clyde Baxter Davidson of Linwood and Fred Hiram, Harvey Lee and James Douglas Davidson, all of Salisbury five daughters. She w as born Doc. 4, 1902 in Davic County lo Boyd and Delia Markland Shermer. She lived all of her adult life in Winslun-Salem and was a member of Northwest Baptist Church. Mrs. Staley was employed by R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company for approximately 25 years, retiring in 1965. Mr. Slaley died in I94:i. Surviving are Iwo daughters, Mrs. IF. Phillip Cole, the Rev. Rex L. Gibbs, and the Rev. Derry Barnhardt. Burial was in Liberty United Methodist Church cemetery. Born Feb. 23, 1919 in Davie County, she was a daughter of the late John D. and Omie McOaniel Jones. She was a member of Cor- natzer United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, James Kimmer; a sister, Hannah Jones of Route 3, Mocksville; and two brothers, Ralph and William C. Jones, both of Route 3, Mocksville. / • MABEL It. Burial will be in Union Baptist Church eemelery. Born July 2:1. 1893, in Forsyth County, she was a daughter of the lute J. William and Dora Martin Hauser. Her husband, John A. Hutchens, preceded her in death. Survivors include four daughters, Adeline H. James of Akron, Ohio, Margaret Masters of Miamisburg, Ohio, and Martha Irvin and Wilma Walker, both of Mocksville; two sons, David Hutchens of Lake Bay, Washington and Bob Hutchens of Richmond, Va.; Three sisters, Dora Harper of Maxsville, Kan., and Sarah Scott and Gypsy Kuuffman, both of Bcnkelman, Neb; two brothers, William Hauser of New Bedford, Ind. and George Hauser of Benketman, Neb.; 26 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; and seven great- great -grandchildren. DANIEL (SID) PRATHER Daniel Sidney (Sid) Prather, 71, Itoute 1, Mocksville, N.C. died Saturday, May 14, at Davie County Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a native of Davie County. He was born September 6, 1911, son of the late B. F. and Neely Safriet Prather. He was a retired < foreman of Drexel-Heritage Fur niture Company. Mr. Prather was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, past chairman of the Board of Deacons, Sunday school teacher and superintendent, and choir director. Survivors include his wife, Beulah Cartner Prather, whom he married December 9,1933, of the home; two dauehters. Mrs. Bobby Lewis and Miss Marie Prather of Rl. 1, Har- mony, N.C.; three grandchildren; 3 sisters, Mrs. Pearl Siroud and Mrs. Lois Cartner of Statesvillc, N.C.. and Mrs. Beatrice Cashion of Ar- chdale. Mr. Ijames was born May 1, 1950, in Greenfield, Indiana to Calvin and Verlie Ijames. He moved with his parents to Davie County, North Carolina in 1958 and resided in the Center Community until his death May 14, 1983. Mr. Ijames was educated in the Davie County Schools, and graduated from Davie High School with honors in 1974. He attended Calawba College and Mitchell College. He was married to the former Isabel Godina from Saganaw, Michigan June 27, 1976. To this union two daughters and one son were born. He was a former employee of the Salisbury Police Department of Salisbury, N.C., Ingersoll-Rand of Mocksville, N.C., and Fairchiid Industries of Winslon-Salem, N.C. Mr. Ijames joined the Church of G^ 7th Day in 1973 and served God faithfully in that organization until his death. Survivors include his wife, Isabel, daughters Victoria Lynn and Rebecca, and son William Matthew all of the home at Mocksville, Route 8; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Ijames, a brother, Steven Ijames, and a sister, Marjolene Ijames also of Mocksville, Route 8, and grand parents, Eld. and Mrs. Ivan Ijames of Mocksville, Route t.
