Four Generations of Boone GeneologyGREETINGS, ALL BOONE DESCENDANTS! The following brief record of the Boone Family i! which migrated to America in 1717 is a revision of one prepared in 1953 as back- ground material for those who wished to begin or to continue the search for their connection with this famous family. Though precaution has been taken to assure accuracy, as interest in genealogical research develops, neer data are being dis- covered, altering dates and relationships previously accepted. References con- sulted include: "The Boone Family" by Snraker, "Notable Southern Families" by Armstrong, "First Families of America" by Virkus, and many county records of North Carolina and Virginia. For others, consult Mrs. Carol Lind, Assistant Reference Librarian, Public Library, Seattle 4• Inquiries; additional or conflicting data solicited. Address Mrs. J. H. Buchanan, Historian Boone Family Association for Washington, 905 Boylston Avenue, Apt. P, Seattle 4, WasMngton. G - FOUR GENERATIONS OF BOONE GEN.:,ALOGY Davie Co. (Sarah was great-aunt of Gen. Daniel i:iorgan). Squire was a tanner and weaver. He was dismissed from the Quaker Church in 1748 because he tolerated the marriage of two of his children "mou" (see note, P. 1), probably one reason he moved, 1 Hay 1750, to Holman's Ford on the Yadkin River, Rowan Co., N.C. He is described as a strong wiry man of rather small stature, ruddy complexion, red hair and gray eyes. Sarah was tall, robust, with black hair and dark eyes. The statement that they stopped in Virginia for about two years seems to be in error, as he made an entry of land in N.C. in 1010.
