You are correct, there is no CatherineAatherine Boone
connected to the Boones of Davie (then Rowan) County, North
Carolina. I have re -read Hazel Atterbury Spraker•s The Boone
F„�ily, and.there is no mention of a Catherine Boone born 01
February 1?55. Thus, I must state that there is no documented
connection of your Catherine Boone to the Boone line descended
from George . Boone3 (-1666-1744) , father of Squire Boone74(169&.1 6

and grandfather of Daniel Boone (i?34--1820) and John Boone
(1727-1803). „
I decided to search ou+ your ISAAC EDWARDS (husband of this
Catherine Boone) in the First U S Census (1790) for the State of
North Carolina. I used the 1978 reprint edition published by the
Genealogical,Publishing Company of Baltimore, Maryland. in.North4-
hampton County, Halifax District I found the following:

So, in Northhampton County, North Carolina which is along the
Virginia border we have a cluster of Boons and Edwards living in-
close proximity. The names do NOT appear one after the other as
in my extract above, but in my opinion this is the place where
Boons and Edwards met and marriede

I recently bought a copy of The Souires Daniel and John Boone
Families in Davie County, North Carolina from the Davie
County Library. I notice that you were one of the compilers
and on page 1 it lists your name under For Further reference,
see.

The primary reason for buying a copy of this book was to see if
it contained any information as to who the parents of Catherine
(sometimes spelled Katherine) Boone was. As you know it does
not contain this information. I thought it was possible that
you might be able to give me some clues on this particular
Catherine Boone.
The information that I have is that Catherine Boone was born
Feb 1, 1755 in either Pennsylvania or North Carolina, probably
North Carolina and died in Grayson (now Carroll Co) Virgnia.
Catherine Boone married Isaac Edwards around 1770 probably in
North Carolina. I have contacted the State Archives in Raleigh
but they have no record of the marriage. Catherine Edwards
was a member of The New Garden Quaker Society of Guilford
County, but I understand that she lived also for a time in
Rowan and Surry Counties, North Carolina before she and her
husband Isaac Edwards moved to Virginia.
Could you give me some clues as to the parents of Catherine Boone
were? Or give me the name and address of someone who might be
able to help me. I have read that Catherine was a first cousin
to Daniel Boone, but everyone wants to claim kinship to a famous
person so this may or may not be true.
I am enclosing a stamped self addressed envelope in the hopes
that you will be able to help me.
