To Whom It May Concern:
Davie County Environmental Health office has no record of a septic permit or repair permit for
the residence located at 205 Edgewood Circle. The actual year built(initial construction) is
listed as 1969. The effective year built (remodel, addition etc...) is listed for 1975. Our
records begin with the year 1965. We have been unable to locate any applications for
wastewater certifications or repair permits for this property as well.
The current Onsite Wastewater rules are applicable for systems installed from July 1977
forward. Systems installed prior to this date are"grandfathered" according to rule .1962 (listed
below).
15A NCAC 18A.1962 APPLICABILITY
The provisions of this Section shall not apply to properly functioning sewage collection,treatment,and disposal systems
in use or for which a valid permit to install a system has been issued prior to July 1, 1977.This provision is applicable
only where the sewage flow and sewage characteristics are unchanged.This provision does not affect the requirements
for system operation,maintenance,and management in accordance with Rule.1961 of this Section.

It needs to be understood by persons wishing to purchase homes with systems installed prior
to July 1, 1977 rule .1962 does not mean that systems installed is installed properly, sized
appropriately or that it is will not malfunction.
