She had'been in declining health for several years. Mrs. Swicegood was born in Davic County Nov. 4.1874, daugh^ ter of Sidnjy A. and Janie Foster Djla. She spent her entire life In Davie County. Surviving are the husband; three sisters, Mrs. R. L Svvink of Coo* Icemec, Misses Minnie and janie Dula, of the home. Funeral services were held at 4 p., m., at Coolccmec Methodist Church. Rev. Burial was In Salisbury Mem* orial Park, Hanqs Self James Rufus Graves, 71, of, Mocksvllle, Route 2, was found dead in his barn June 25th. ^ j He was found hanging from a rafter at 1 a. m., by C. F. Leoch.' Graves had farmed all his life and been in poor health for the past two months. Surviving are Mrs. Bowles and seven nieces and nephews. He had been in declining health for two years. He was born in Davie County Jan. 25, 1870, the son of J. C. and Amy Banks Spry. He was married to Miss Mary Elizabeth Foster who died in 1935. Mr. Spry, who had made his home in Cooleemcc since 1915, was a member of the 15-year club at Erwin Mills but had been re tired for many years. He also was a member of the Red Man's organization and the Cooleeniec Baptist Church. She had been in declining health for the past year Mrs. Reavis was born June 18, 1893, in ClarksvlUe Township in Davie County, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Wooten. She had lived there her entire life. She was a member of Pino Methodist Church. She was born in Yodkin County, September 2, 1696, daughter of James Charlie and Martha Jane Bcrden Burgess. She lived in the Clarksville community and was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. Surviving are the husband; one son, Dewey Rntledge of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Lonnie Tutterow of Mocksviile, Route 1; two brothers, J. T. and W. E. Bur gess of Mocksviile, Route 2; three sisters, Mrs. H. C. Harp of Win- ston-Salem, Mrs. H. B. White of Greensboro and Mrs. E. F. Baity of Mocksviile, Route 2; and four grandchildren. LEO BROCK KILLED IN WRECK; HUSBAND IN SERIOUS CONDITION ' Autos Collide West of Asheboro Mrs. Norma Brock, 65, of Far* mington was killed instantly about 10:45 a.m. Tuesday when the car in which she was riding with her husband collided with a car operated by Charles A. Bunt ing, about 40, of Asheboro. Leo Franklin Brock, about 70, was in serious condition in the Randolph Hospital. As of Wed nesday morning Mr. Brock had not regained consciousness. The accident occurcd about three miles west of Asheboro on highway 04. Mr. and Mrs. Brock were headed for Chapel Hill to bring back their son, Billy, who had been attending summer school at the University of North Caro lina. Mrs. Brock was thrown from the car down an embankment and was dead when investigatlrig officers arrived on the scene. Mr. Brock and Bunting, driver of the other car, both seriously injured, were rushed to the Randolph County Hospital in Asheboro. The accident occurcd at the foot of B long hill and was appar ently caused when Bunting ran off the shoulder of the road and swerved across to the opposite side in an attempt to pull his ve hicle back onto the pavement, the investigating officers said. Bunting wastraveling west, and the Brock car was headed cast toward Asheboro. At press time no chorgcs had been mode. Investigating officers, Patrolmen W. W. Wilson ond G. T. Nov. 14, at her home ! 5213 Cox Blvd., Winston-Salem. I Mrs. Williams, 88, had been ser iously ill for five weeks and in declining health for several years. She was born in Davie County, daughter of John and Lou'Walk er Myers. She was a member of Fulton Methodist Church. Mrs. Wiliams was married Dec. 20, 1860, to Noah Hcndrlx, who died in 1894. Two years later, she married Jacob Nathan Will iams, a Davie farmer. They mov ed to Wjnston-Salem 27 years ago. Surviving ore her husband, four sons, Roy, Glenn and Vestal Williams and Kopp Hcndrix, all of Winston-Salcm; four daugh ters, Miss Louelle Williams of the home, Mrs. Esther Robertson ofj Winstun-Salcm, Mrs. Ida Hendrlx Young of Greensboro and Mrs. Delia Hendrlx Robertson of Bix- by; 38 grandchildren and 49 great-grandchildren. In 1897 they moved to what Is now known as SeiiUnel, Oklahoma, where he 7iled a claim to the land that be came his family home. He Is survived by his widow and six. children. Two of his children preceded his in death. Brown Mrs. Emma Eliza Glasscoek Brown, 93, of Mocksville, Route 2. died Dec. 12 at 3 o'clock at I hor home in the Colaholn town- ' ship. She had been seriously 111 for six weeks. ' Mrs. Brown was the doughter^ . of the late Thomas N. end Mary ' Ellen Anderson Glosscock of Da- vic County. She was born April , 14, 1858, and spent her entire life ' in Davic County, She was a member of the Cen- ter Methodist Church since early childhood. On November 19, 1863, sl»c muried James H. Brown, who preceded her in death on April I 25, 1941, ' Survivors include two sons, S. • C. Brown of MocksvlUc, Route 2, j and J. H. Brown of the home; one ! daughter, Miss Sophia Brown of the homo; one sister, Miss Cor nelia Glasscoek of the home; one I grandchild, and several nieces I and nephews. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. at the Union Chapel Methodist Church. Rev. William Anderson and Rev. H. D. Jcssup officiated. Burial wos in the church ccmc- Icrmy.
