S, Mocksvllle died at 10:30 p. m. February 2Sth In Davie County Hospital. Mrs. Parks was one of the oldest if not the oldest resident of Davle County. She was the widow of Mrs. Parks was born May 4, 1870 in Davie County, daughter of (he late Robert and Reb^ca Hendricks Houston. She was oducated in the Davle County schools, and for many years was employed as a domestic in numerous homes in Davie County. Mrs. Parks was active in Cedar Creok Baptist Church and in her community until three years ago. tn a feature story done on her in 1974, she was reported as saying if she didn't have a way to get to church, "1 walk" and that she didn't spend her days in "a rocking chair," but kept busy. Mrs. Parks made her home with her grandson, Dewey Parks whom she reared, and his family on Rt. 5. Other survivors include a ' daughter, Mrs. Lola Clement of Mocksvllle; 12 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Junker held a life-long interest in education. He taught school and was principal in Tyro and Reeds schools In Davidson County. He later was principal of the Cooleemee school in Davle County. He was a former membdr of the Salisbury City School board and played a part in the moving Setzer School from its original location to its present site. He had real estate Interests In Charlotte and Oavie County. He also held business in terests in Mocksvilie, at one time being one of the owners of Davie Furniture Co. Later he and his brother organized and operated Farmer's Hardware and Furniture Store, also known as Junker Brothers, He operated the Rowan Music Store In Salisbury until retirement in 1967. He was also engaged In the insurance business In Cooleemee and Salisbury. Mr. Junker was a charter member of the Rotary Club in Mocksvilie and was a present member of the Rotary Club In Salllbury.
