PICTURE OF THE ORIGINAL "WALKER HOME"
Home of Harrison J. and Sarah A. Walker who reared their ten
children here, the land was given to Sarah and her heirs by Billy
Wilson, her step -mother Libby's father. Harrison was a carpenter
and erected all the buildings. The little "house" in the fore-
ground was called the "eating room" a cool place to dine in the
summertime.
Harrison Jiles Walker, son of Polly Walker, was born Dec. 29, 1826,
died March 18, 1897.
Sarah Ann Chaffin, daughter of Billy Chaffin, was born Feb. 13, 18319
died Nov. 1, 1922.
(Billy Chaffin married a Hendrix and had 3 children, Martin, Frank,
and Sarah) Sarah's mother died and her father married Libby Wilson
who soon died and he then married Lydia Holman.
Harrison J. Walker and Sarah Ann Chaffin were married April 27' 1847.
To them were born ten children.
Mary Temperance Walker born June 7, 1848, died October 18, 1936.
Mary married John Cartner and had four children, first baby died,
then DeWitt, Boone and Ella.
Betty Jane Walker born November 27, 1850, died March 23, 1926. Jane
married Van Stroud and had five children, Maggie who died in
childhood, then Sallie, Walker, Charles, and Mattie.
DeWitt Clinton Walker born April 11,
1853, died July 23, 1870.
William Shelton Walker born October
5, 1855, died November 25, 1936.
Bill married Sallie Thomas and
had five children, Neely died a
baby, then Boone, Walter, Ella
and McKinley or "Billy" as he was

Florence Elizabeth Walker born July
15, 1858, died October 4, 1940.
Florence married Sam Smoot and
had eleven children, Willie died

young, then Jess, Mag, Arthur,
Minnie, Charles, Lizzie, "Pole",
Alice, Anna Mae and Maude.
Ferguson Franklin Walker born September 15, 1860, died September 23,

1946. Ferg. married Joyce Koontz and had five children, all girls,

Maggie Mae Walker born May 7, 1863, died March 30, 1910.
Mag. married Booe Bailey and had five children, John, Robert,
Willie, Marsh and Mary.
John Hoke Walker born February 5, 1866, died April 9, 1945.
John married Matt Whitner and had six children, Roscoe, McGarvey,
Minnie, Lee, Margaret, and Marion.
Delia Belle Walker born February 3, 1869,
Belle had a son Oscar Walker born August 21, 1889. On
February 3, 1903 Belle married John Whitley and they had two
children,.Tom and Ben who died a baby.
Robert Lee Walker born September 15, 1871
Bob married Mammie Green and had seven children, Eddy, Frank,
Pearl, Duke, Maryetta, Annie Lee and Helen.
March 18, 1897 Harrison J. Walker died leaving his widow Sarah, their
daughter Belle and her -son Oscar in their house. Then Ferg, and
family moved in with them and in April 1897 this picture was made.
Those in the picture are Belle and Oscar and Ferguson Walker's family.

Matrona lst daughter and Jessie 4th child. standing in front of
Matrona. Seated Mrs. Joyce Walker with 5th child Mae.
In the fall Fergs moved out in a little house on the place and lived
till the fall of 1905 when they again moved in this house and stayed
till Christmas 1923,

Joyce Lugene Koonts born July 31, 1859.
Ferg. and Joyce were married June 3, 1880. They had five children,
Matrona Victoria Walker born May 8, 1881, died September 22, 1909.
Matrona married Sam Snider and had three children, Joyce Letitia, Betty
Jane, and Lewie Henry. Joyce married Carpenter Eagle. Betty -'Tom Beck,
and Lewie - Gertrude Shinn.
Frankie Lugene Walker born July 1, 1883.
Lou married Fab Whitley and had ten children, Leona Mae, Ferguson,
Gamabiel, Nellie Elmore, Ella Lugene, Iris Pauline, Theodore Linny
and Doris. 3 died in infancy. Leona married Bryant Tritt

Beulah Beatrice Walker born November 12, 1888.
Beulah married Lewis Forrest and had eleven children, first
baby boy died, then Georgia Mae, Clarence Franklin, Claudia Elisabeth,
Ralph Bailey, Paul Gaskell, Conrad Lewis, Novella Beatrice, Juanita
Joyce, Beulah Jean and Freida.- Georgia married Glenn Boger. Clarence -.
Sadie Barneycastle; Claudia - Albert Gantt; Ralph' -.Willie Smith;
Paul - Mary Barneycastle; Conrad - Mary Todd; Novella - Bill Safley;

Jessie Letitia Walker born June 30, 1891.
Jessie married Frank Anderson and had seven children, Abram
Wayne, Wilma Mae, Hayden Willard, Margaret Maurice, Jim Frank, Joyce
Mozell, Perry Bruce.
Wayne married Elvie Godby; Wilma - Vestal Danner; Hayden - Irene
Boger; Margaret - Bob Boger; Joyce - G. W. Goodman;'Jim Frank - Virgie
Patrick; Bruce - Annette Stiller.
Olive Mae Walker born May 26, 1894. May was paralized on her 7th
birthday and spent her life in a wheel chair, doing cro.(crocheting),
tatting, embro. (embroidering), sewing, etc. for her "pin money".
She also worked in the kitchen and tended lots of babies.
