JOHNSON 536 Angie Way Lilburn, GA 30247 Dear Ms Johnson: TIG pj JQj 5N lur- hoc HOWELL BOONE Boone Farm Road Route 1 Box 365A Mocksville, NC 27028 TEL: (704) 492-5307 25 May 1982 Minerva Jane Trammell who married Noah Webster Boone will be difficult to tie into your Georgia Trammell family,. Wright B. Frost in his "The Frosts and Related Families of Bedford County, Tennessee" states as follows: Noah Webster Boone ninth child of the Reverend Benjamin and Mary Wilson] Boone was born in Rowan County, North Carolina, August 30, 1807. He died at Rolla, Missouri, July 7, 1860 while on the way to St. Louis to buy goods for his mercantile store near Stella, Missouri, On Sep- tember 17, 1835 he married in Washington County, Arkansas, Minerva Jane Trammell, who was born in Boone County, Missouri May 24, 1819 and died in McDonald County, Missouri August 1, 1870. Although Minerva Jane Trammell might have been related to William, Wade Dorsey and Verna Trammell, there is no positive link established between the Georgia branch of the Trammells and 'Uhe across -the -Mississippi Trammells. Burke County is many miles away from the Yadkin River, valley where Squire Boone settled with his sons, daughters and nephew. I have no explanation for Boone Trammell's first name, and there is nothing that could connect him to the Yadkin River valley Boones. I enclose a xerox copy of my chart on the children of Ben- jamin Boone and Mary [Wilson] Boone. My recent study has been directed toward a determination of the birthsites of members of the various Boone fmnilies in Davie (formerly Rowan) County, North Carolina. Note: I locate the birthsite of Noah Webster Boone not in Rowan County, but in Iredell County, North Carolina. So, for you, it is back to South Carolina Trammells. Q Q,• L O J Howell Boone: based on information available as of November 1981 4 536 Angie Way Lilburn, Ga. 302.7 May 18, 1982 Mr. Howell Boone Boones F'arm Rd. Mocksville, N.C. 27028 Dear Mr. Boone; In Colonial Wars in S.C. by Andrea, I found where Minerva Jane Trammell married o ebster Boone, with your name to write for information. Since our Trammell line leads back to S.C. I was most interested in Minerva Jane and her family. The only Minerva Trammell I fine in my file is the daughter of Jesse (ca. 1763-10 Jan. 1867, Greenville Dist. S.C.) and Sarah (Forrester) Trammell. Her grandfather was Daniel (1709-1?7?) and wife #2 Elizabeth (Scott) Trammell. Wondered if this could be your Minerva? Enclosed is a copy of my family chart. If any part of this rings a bell I will be happy to send the family sheet on any of them. As you can see, I have reached an impasse with my William Trammell. He is my missing link. If I can only prove which, William he was I will be off and running again. Would greatly appreciate any information you might be willing to share and happy to exchange what I have on our Trammells. Sincerely, J Betty 3. son gni P, S, There was a Boone Trammell in the 1?90 Burke Co. N.C. Census --Any tie in?
