Amanda's parents passed away when she was young,and she lived with
relatives, The last place she lived was with her mother's brother,Noah Webster
Boone, with two other sisters Rebecca Jane and Rhoda.While her husband,David
Weems,and two hroyher-in-law were serving in the Confederate Army,three sisters
and the husband of one of them,hi_s wife Amanda Reagor Weems, and her two single
sisters, the children of the four families.lived together in one big house
until it was burned by bushwhackers who searched the ashes for gold which was
saved because it had been sewn into the petticoats of their Negro women. After
that the families went to Washington Co. Ark. Amanda only lived three weelts after
her her husband David Weems came home from the War between the States, Only one
Son.survied,E met Hume Weems.

After Amandit,death and burial in Arkansas Rebecca Jane and Rhoda went to
live in Texas, perhaps with their brother BenjaminFranklin. After Rhoda's marriage
and removal to Oregon, Rebecca Jane,who was a school teacher returned to M0.
and lived with her nephew andwi.f e , E meet Hume , & Georgia Weems, returning to
TN. in 1895,after her Great niece Jessy Amanda was born, andshe,�,'.ried by or
near her parents. She is reported to have presented the Confederate flag to
President Jefferson Davis on a special occasion.
