REDUCTION IN PRICES !
On page 7, you will see that we reduced some of the prices of the books you can order.
We are trying to simplify our bookkeeping and possibly sell some of the items that
are overstocked. Take a look and come by the library to buy some books and/or maps
that have a reduced cost to you. Or you can order books and/or maps and we’ll mail them.
The 1850 census book is especially interesting, because it contains 6 types of census:
population, slave, mortality, agriculture, industry, and summary.
The first three are online at Ancestry and FamilySearch, but the next three are not.
Prices on page 7 include postage and tax (approx. $5). If you buy at the library, each item is $5 less.

HOW TO EASILY WRITE YOUR OWN FAMILY HISTORY BOOK

On RootsMagic, for example, there is an icon of several books. Click on it, and it will guide you
through the process of compiling chapters, graphics, and data.
YOUR OWN GENEALOGY LIBRARY
Do you have your books and maps all together where you can find them quickly?
Have you made a list of them so you can remember not to buy another one just like the one you have?
You can buy software for cataloging your books, or you can use Google Sheets to list them.
The advantage of Google Sheets is that it’s free and you can access this file from your smart phone or tablet.
Have you made plans for your book collection at your demise?

A community in N Davie County. As early as 1805, former residents of Currituck County began to move into the area.
Two hurricanes in 1830 and another one in 1839 caused extensive crop damage in the Currituck County area; the
population of the county dropped from 7,655 in 1830 to 6,703 in 1840. The community was known as Little Currituck
