This deed made this the 18th day of April, 1956, by W. M. Veach and wife, 'Mary C.
Veach of Davie County North Carolina parties of the first part, to Elsie V. Taylor
and husband, Paul E. Taylor of Davie �ounty, North Carolina, parties of the second part;
WITNESSETH: That the said parties of the first part, for and in consideration of
the sum of Five Dollars (ev5.00) and other valuable consideration, to them in hand paid,
but subject to the life estate herein reserved have bargained and sold, and by these
presents do bargain, sell, and convey unto said parties of the second part and their heirs
and assigns, a tract or parcel of land in the County of Davie and State of North Carolina,
in Jerusalem Township, and bounded as follows:
BEGINNING at an iron pipe and running S. 59 degs. W. 676 feet to an
iron pipe; thence N. 13 degs. N. 254 feet to an iron pipe; thence N.
59 deea. E. 592 feet to an iron pipe; thence S. 36 degs. E. 247 feet
to the bepinning corner. This being Tract No. 2 of the W. M. and Mary
C. Veach lands..

But this conveyance is made subject to the life estate in said lands which is hereby
expressly excepted and reserved by the parties of the first part for and during
their natural lives.
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the aforesaid tract or parcel of land, and all privileges and
appurtenances thereto belonging, to the said parties of the second part and their heirs
and assigns, to their only use and behoof forever, but subject always to the life estate
herein reserved by the said parties of the first part.
And the said parties of the first part do covenant that they are seised of said pre-
mises in fee and have the right to convey the same in fee simple; that the same are free
from incumbrances; and that they will warrant and defend the said title to the same against
the claims of all persons whatsoever.
